Marcus Du
Sautoy explored the hidden mathematics of the East and visited China and know
how the math helped to build amazing engineering of the great wall of China.
The China doesnt had the place value and no representation of zero. They
believe that mathematician were important. Du Sautoy discovered the magic
square of China. He described both the use of math of China in engineering
projects and their belief of the mystical power of numbers. He also mentioned
Qin Jushao.
After
China, he travelled to the place of India. He observed and described the Indian
mathematicianand their invention of trigonometry. The introduction of their
symbol, which is the number zero and the new concepts of infinityand negative
numbers. Indian represented negative (-) numbers as dept. Gwalior fort
mentioned that zero was inscribed in the walls. Also, the Bramagupta and
Bhaskara as the conceptof zero.
Du Sautoy
considered the Middle East as the new language of algebra and cubic equations
evolution. The development of algebra was one of the most important part of
Arabic mathematics. They learned how to manipulate polynomials, solving
equations and many more. They also contributed to geometry and trigonometry.
Islamic empire conquer different civilizations. They also contributed in
numeration system. Islamic empire collect, build, and decode anothers work.
The Italian
Renaissance had a mustof mathematical activity just like Greek and Arabic
mathematics. Du Sautoy discovered that Italian use Roman Numerals. It wasintroduced
by Leonard Fibonacci, the creator of Fibonacci Sequence.

In every civilization that developed mathematics, we
also found evidence of mathematical knowledge. Math is needed for everyday
life. Math was needed in developing branches of knowledge: astronomy,
timekeeping and calendars. According to them, mathematics was interesting Egypt,
Mesopotamia, India and China became independently subject, practiced and
ascribed by others.
Indeed, mathematics is of great help in our daily lives. But many of us do not appreciate the importance of it because they just look at the confusing numbers they encounter in school, never considering that the very very hour they wake up in the morning is already math.
ReplyDeleteAs i perceive it, math is a discipline and it evolved through time as people advances it necessity.
ReplyDeleteIt seems u dont like or not interested in the movie. Quite short reaction. Actually the movie has many bad points (not to mention the graphics?? ooppss did i?)
